Project « Week against Human Trafficking 2015 »

Position Title : Consultant
Duty Station : Bern - Switzerland
Type of Appointment : Fixed-term, 6 months (50%-70%)

Context :
Under the general supervision of the Chief of Mission, the successful candidate will assist in the coordination and implementation of the project « Week against Human Trafficking 2015 ».
Core Functions / Responsibilities :
Contribute to the organization of all operational and administrative tasks related to the implementation of the Week against Human Trafficking 2015.
Participate in operational meetings in the organization of the Week against Human Trafficking and do the secretariat for the steering committee that organizes the Week against Human Trafficking.
Draft additional background papers.
Contribute to the development of the means of communication used to announce the Week against Human Trafficking and to inform the general public about this phenomenon.
Gather statistical information and draft statistical analysis, narrative reports and communications as required.
Contribute to the effective liaison with relevant actors in the field of Counter-Trafficking at the national as well as cantonal level.
Undertake duty travel within Switzerland.
Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Chief of Mission.
The requirements to become a consultant are : University degree (Social Science or Economics) ; excellent knowledge of English, German and French.
Further desirable qualifications are : Work and/or academic experience in the field of Counter-Trafficking. Work experience in the field of awareness-raising activities. Ability to prepare clear and concise reports. Good computer skills. Excellent communication, negotiation and mediation skills. Strong strategic and creative thinking. Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with colleagues from varied cultures and professional backgrounds.
